Been a while.
of course, its been a while. it is understandable that after a period of absence, people often default to saying "welcome back" as a common and automatic response. however, it's important to recognize that being away for a while doesn't necessarily imply a need for a warm welcome back, as one could have been actively online throughout that time. so, when someone says "welcome back," it's often a reflexive assumption that you're expressing joy at being back, even though you might simply be stating the fact that it has indeed been a while. so theoretically, people should not say, "weclome back," because in the back of their minds they know that they are not sure if the user saying "its been a while" has been gone for that "while". this is a form of deceit and lying, which means when you say "welcome back," you're automatically implying that the person you're talking to was gone for a period of time, when really they might have not been. this is always why you have to be careful with every word you say, and every thing you think, and every thing you do, because it was in the pill you took today.
